Configurando uTorrent.

uTorrent es, lejos, el mejor programa para la red bittorrent.

Simple, liviano, estable, intuitivo, y con características que deberían imitar todos los P2P, como cuando hacés click derecho en el ícono de la tray, y te permite pausar/reanudar todos los torrents con un solo click, ideal para gente que necesite jugar utilizar todo el ancho de banda para otras aplicaciones.

Si bien las versiones 1.7 y superiores salieron hace rato, las versiones 1.6 siguen siendo las preferidas, debido a que las nuevas versiones están baneadas en muchos trackers debido a que presumen que el programa envía datos confidenciales del usuario.

Hay una parte a la cual se le debe prestar mucha atención para sacarle todo el jugo al programa, me estoy refiriendo a las settings de conexión, ubicadas en: Options – Preferences – Connections y Bittorrent.

Opciones Avanzadas a tener en cuenta:

net.low_cpu(false) -> si se tiene un microprocesador potente se puede desactivar esta opción para mejorar el rendimiento del programa.

peer.lazy_bitfield(true) -> si tienes problemas con velocidad de subida, para conseguir fuentes, o sabes que tu proveedor bloquea el tráfico P2P.

Ipfiler.enabled: Para activarlo cambiamos el valor “false” por “true”. De esta manera activaremos el uso del ipfilter. Para que funcione correctamente tenemos que meter previamente el fichero ipfilter.dat en la carpeta de configuración del µTorrent, que se encuentra en “c:\documents and settings\usuario\datos de programa\uTorrent”.
